About CartaFlow
What is CartaFlow?
CartaFlow is a Brazilian platform for automated physical mail. Businesses send PDFs and addresses through an API or a dashboard, and CartaFlow prints, envelopes and posts the mail to addresses in Brazil.
Who is CartaFlow for?
Registered businesses that send invoices, collection notices, customer notices, patient mail, school communications or transactional mail to people in Brazil, including businesses based outside Brazil.
Can a business outside Brazil open an account?
CartaFlow accounts are for registered businesses. Requirements for businesses outside Brazil are confirmed during sign-up.
Is CartaFlow part of Correios?
No. Correios is the national postal service of Brazil. CartaFlow is an independent company that prints and envelopes your mail and posts it through Correios.
How is CartaFlow different from Correios e-Carta?
e-Carta is the Correios service in which documents are sent electronically and Correios prints, envelopes and delivers them. CartaFlow also posts through Correios and adds a better envelope, color printing, your own PDF layout, an API, a dashboard and physical address verification.
Sending mail
How do I send mail to a Brazilian address?
Send a PDF and the recipient’s address through the API, or upload them in the dashboard. CartaFlow prints the document, puts it in an envelope and posts it in Brazil.
Can my system send mail automatically?
Yes. Your system calls the CartaFlow API with a PDF and an address whenever it needs to send a mailing, for example after each billing run.
Can I send a large batch at once?
Yes. Upload the files and addresses in the dashboard, review the recipients and the total, and confirm. Each recipient gets their own PDF.
Can the mail be printed in color?
Yes. You choose color or black and white. The PDF is printed exactly as you designed it, with your layout, colors and logo.
What language should the mail be in?
Your recipients live in Brazil, so most businesses write in Portuguese. CartaFlow does not translate or edit your content.
What address details do I need?
The recipient’s name, the street and number, the district (bairro), the city, the two-letter state code and the CEP.
Is there API documentation?
Yes, at docs.cartaflow.com.br, with the full API reference.
What is a CEP?
The Brazilian postal code. It has eight digits, usually written as 00000-000, and every Brazilian address has one.
Physical address verification
What is physical address verification?
A way to confirm that a person receives mail at the address they gave you. CartaFlow mails a code and a QR code under your brand, and the address is verified when the person enters the code.
How can I use it without writing code?
Use the dashboard to request verifications and see each address as verified or waiting for code. The QR code opens a verification page with your logo, hosted by CartaFlow.
Can I verify inside my own app?
Yes. Your app collects the code from the person and your system checks it with the CartaFlow API.
Does the mailing show CartaFlow’s brand?
No. It carries your logo and your name, and so does the verification page, with no CartaFlow name or logo.
What is recorded when the person confirms?
The date and time, the IP address, the approximate location of that IP, the device, operating system and browser, and whether the person scanned the QR code or typed the code. If the person chooses to share the phone’s location, the distance to the address is recorded too. You see all of it in the dashboard and through the API.
How much does a verification cost?
The same as one simple mailing on your plan.
Pricing
How does pricing work?
You pay per mailing, in Brazilian reais: from R$15.90 on Pay as you go, with no monthly fee, and from R$5.90 on plans with a monthly fee. Starting prices cover a simple letter: one A4 sheet printed in black and white, enveloped and posted to an address in Brazil. Color printing and extra sheets cost more. Your account shows the exact price of each mailing before you confirm it. Mailings sent through the API and the dashboard cost the same.
Is there annual billing?
Yes. On plans with a monthly fee, you can pay for 12 months upfront and get 2 months free. The price per mailing stays the same.
Which plan is the cheapest for me?
Pay as you go is the cheapest for up to 24 mailings a month. Essential is the cheapest for 25 to 256 mailings a month. Professional is the cheapest for 257 to 1,466 mailings a month. Scale is the cheapest for 1,467 or more mailings a month.
Is there a free way to start?
New accounts get R$50 in credit, enough for 3 simple letters. Pay as you go has no monthly fee.
Delivery and limits
How long does delivery take?
Delivery time depends on the postal service and the destination within Brazil, and it is not guaranteed by CartaFlow.
Can I track a mailing after it is posted?
No. CartaFlow reports each mailing as received, printed and posted. Postal tracking after posting is not offered.
Can I send mail to other countries?
No. CartaFlow sends mail to addresses in Brazil.
